Mindkeeper AI Disclaimer & Medical Advice Policy
Last updated: 25 January 2026
This AI Disclaimer & Medical Advice Policy ("Policy") explains the limitations of Mindkeeper's AI features and clarifies that Mindkeeper does not provide medical advice. It is modeled on common competitor approaches for AI wellbeing apps (crisis warning, "not a substitute," AI limitations, user responsibility, and reporting).
1) Emergency and crisis disclaimer — read carefully
Mindkeeper is not an emergency service and cannot help in crisis situations.
If you are experiencing thoughts of suicide, self-harm, harming others, or any mental health emergency, you must:
- Stop using Mindkeeper immediately
- Call your local emergency number (e.g., 112/999/911 depending on country)
- Go to the nearest emergency department, and/or
- Contact a qualified mental health professional
Mindkeeper is designed for day-to-day support and is not appropriate for severe mental illness, psychosis/mania, active suicidal ideation, or situations requiring urgent clinical care.
2) Nature of the service (AI wellbeing support)
Mindkeeper provides conversational support and coaching-style guidance using artificial intelligence ("AI"). The AI is software that generates responses based on patterns in data and your inputs. It is designed to be supportive, but it can misunderstand context and may produce incorrect or inappropriate outputs.
3) Not medical advice; not a substitute for professional care
Mindkeeper:
- Does not provide medical advice
- Does not provide clinical diagnoses
- Does not prescribe or recommend medication
- Does not provide treatment plans
- Is not a replacement for a licensed therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, or physician
You should seek professional help for any mental health concern that is persistent, worsening, complex, or severe. If you are choosing between Mindkeeper and professional care, choose professional care.
4) Not a medical device
Mindkeeper is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition.
5) Limitations of AI (what you must understand)
AI has important limitations, including:
- It may not understand nuance, context, sarcasm, or complex emotional situations.
- It may generate content that is inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or unsafe.
- It may not recognize signs of crisis, abuse, or severe mental illness reliably.
- The usefulness of AI can vary significantly between individuals and situations.
Do not rely on Mindkeeper as your only source of support or guidance. Overreliance can delay necessary professional care.
6) User responsibility (your decisions are yours)
You are responsible for:
- How you interpret AI responses,
- Decisions you make based on the Services, and
- Seeking professional support when needed.
You agree to use your judgment and to treat AI responses as general, non-clinical support, not professional advice.
7) No guarantees
Mindkeeper does not guarantee:
- that AI responses will be correct, complete, or suitable for your situation, or
- any particular mental health or wellbeing outcome.
8) Potential risks
Using AI for wellbeing support may involve risks, including:
- misunderstanding or misinterpreting AI responses,
- receiving responses that feel upsetting or invalidating,
- delaying professional care,
- sharing sensitive information you later regret sharing.
If a response feels unsafe, wrong, or distressing, stop the conversation and seek appropriate support.
9) Continuous development
Mindkeeper's AI features may change over time as we improve reliability, safety, and user experience. We may update this Policy to reflect material changes.
10) Feedback and reporting concerning responses
If you encounter an AI response that is concerning, inappropriate, or appears unsafe, please report it promptly through the in-app reporting flow (if available) and/or by emailing: legal@getmindkeeper.com.
11) How this Policy relates to our Terms & Privacy Policy
This Policy supplements and is incorporated into:
- Mindkeeper Terms & Conditions (Terms of Use), and
- Mindkeeper Privacy Policy
If there is a conflict, the Terms control regarding legal rights and obligations, and the Privacy Policy controls regarding personal data handling.
